Position Summary: The candidate will go through brief training period to learn the various architectures and languages we actively develop in as well as the applications we support. The successful candidate will work within our Information Technology group to ensure the projects we receive are completed on schedule. They will also play a role in continuing to evolve our software development practices and technology stack choices to ensure we meet the needs of the company, making sure the decisions reflect long term goals.

  • Providing analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of applications
  • Ensuring projects go through our SDLC from development, to test, and into production environments on schedule
  • Reading specifications and provides feedback on areas needing more detail or questions that need to be answered in order for development to begin
  • Writing extensible code that is well structured, properly documented and is easy to maintain
  • Provides off hours support as part of a rotation with other developers
  • Assists in the development of standards and best practices
  • Helping in evolving areas of the SDLC
  • Creating easy to understand technical documentation for projects completed
  • Understanding the larger picture related to the business/technology strategy, and helps to guide all aspects of application development in that direction
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Ability to independently work on assigned tasks

  • Experience with developing Java Applications

  • Experience with VCS systems (Subversion, Git)
  • Understand the role of an RDBMS (MariaDB, MySQL, Postgres)
