About The Position

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an entry-level hydrology & hydraulics engineer to join our collaborative and innovative water resources team in Middleton, WI. Responsibilities include analyzing dam and hydropower facilities, water conveyance systems, levee systems, bridges/culverts, watersheds and floodplains; construction document and cost development; report writing, quality control reviews, client communication, and designing water resources and other civil engineering projects. Some travel will be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or closely related engineering field or ability to obtain degree within three months of hire date

Nice To Haves

  • Previous H&H, civil, or closely related engineering internship(s), or 1-2 years of relevant hydrology and hydraulics work experience
  • Fluids, open channel hydraulics, and municipal hydraulics coursework or work experience
  • Watershed hydrology coursework or work experience
  • Coastal engineering coursework or work experience
  • Experience with H&H modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, HydroCAD)
  • Experience with spreadsheet and coding solutions for engineering applications (e.g., MS Excel, VBA, Python, or MATLAB)
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with ESRI GIS (ArcGIS Pro or similar) products for data editing and geoprocessing workflows
  • Experience working with teams to prepare products and deliverables on time and within a specified budget
  • Experience writing technical reports
  • Experience presenting to clients/owners
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or possess the Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
