About The Position

The Bloomfield, NJ office of Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer for its Geotechnical Engineering Department for office and field assignments in the New Jersey/New York/Pennsylvania area. The candidate we are seeking should have 1-2 years diverse civil and geotechnical engineering experience. Transportation project experience, preferably for NJDOT, NJ Turnpike or Garden State Parkway and related projects is a plus. Requirements

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Possess an EIT certificate, and be able to earn your PE in NJ within 3 -4 yrs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Possess excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with multiple company offices in the northeast regional area

Nice To Haves

• Working towards a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical emphasis is a plus
• Transportation project experience, preferably for NJDOT, NJ Turnpike or Garden State Parkway and related projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Field experience including boring/test pit inspection for highway/bridge/building projects
• Burmister and USCS soil classification systems
• pavement cores
• general contractor supervision preferred
• Some experience in foundation design and analysis in the areas of transportation, structures and related projects.
