AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Los Angeles, California October 29-30. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. Our thriving, multidisciplinary Dams/Hydro Engineering team in California is looking for a Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join the growing team in our San Diego, Los Angeles, or Orange, CA office. AECOM's Global Water Team is involved in high profile, industry leading infrastructure projects in the US and overseas including a variety of significant projects for Local and National Governments, Water Authorities, and many other clients. We work on projects through all stages from feasibility through design, construction, operation, maintenance, and asset management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with Autocad or Microstation.
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member on teams providing analysis and design support for technical and feasibility studies for a variety of water infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with development of conceptual layouts and designs including development of supporting calculations and analyses.
  • Assist with development of plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Assist with structural analysis and design calculations.
  • Participate as field and/or office engineering technician during construction projects.
  • Assist with preparation of technical reports and memoranda.
