Role description: Arcadis is currently seeking an entry-level Geologist to provide support on environmental remediation projects. This position will be based in Indianapolis, Indiana and will require local and regional travel. As part of our Resilience Environment team, you’ll help improve quality of life. Role accountabilities: This position encompasses predominantly field work, with a smaller amount of office work (task management, data analysis, report preparation, scope preparation, and client communications). Estimated field/travel is up to 75% field and 25% office. Your core duties will include: Perform fieldwork which will include contractor/vendor oversight for site characterization, soil sampling, monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling, and excavation/UST removal oversight. Performing remedial system operation and maintenance (O&M), and monitoring. Assist in preparation of O&M reports. Preparing subcontracts and overseeing the work of subcontractors. Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) with planning and performing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks. Exhibiting ownership of delegated tasks, including responsibility for coordinating and delivering on-schedule and on-budget tasks and submittals. Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts. Arcadis is seeking a candidate with outstanding communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities for this dynamic role. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, team-oriented, and adept at both independent and collaborative work. They should be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, handling the physical demands of fieldwork, and displaying flexibility in approaching assignments. The role involves overnight travel (25% or more) and requires proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook.
