PAE is looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in either our Portland or San Francisco offices.

  • Develop foundational knowledge in fire protection system design, modeling, and documentation
  • Develop proficiency using Revit and AutoCAD as design/drafting tools
  • Provide task-based support for fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems
  • Develop an understanding of drawings, specifications, building codes (e.g., NFPA), and fire protection design industry standards
  • Complete assigned work with instruction from project team members
  • Assist with construction administration
  • Perform basic hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems
  • Perform battery sizing calculations for fire alarm systems
  • Assist in the layout and design of fire protection systems, including sprinkler, standpipe, and special suppression systems
  • Contribute to the layout and design of fire alarm systems, including notification appliances, initiating devices, and sequence of operations
  • May assist in the design layout of plumbing systems, providing task-based support
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Fire Protection preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain
