(Intertek-PSI) is a leading US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, offering services such as construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Field Technician role involves performing various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under direct supervision or detailed controlled procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required
  • Must be able and willing to travel within three hours to other cities to assist with materials testing
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting up to 80lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED, and/or College Degree
  • 2 years' work experience in construction
  • Previous construction materials testing experience
  • Third party certifications related to construction material testing (ACI, ICC, and/or Asphalt Certifications)

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures
  • Operates testing equipment and conducts testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting
  • Works utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams
  • Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks
  • Makes detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results
  • Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results
  • Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results
  • Communicates effectively with client and project teams
  • Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
