About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to be based in our Denver, Colorado office. This position will support our EHS & Air team within our Environment business line. This position could start ASAP. This is an entry-level position in AECOM’s Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area. The Environmental Scientist will work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to environmental compliance plans, environmental permitting, environmental site assessments, and subsurface investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
  • Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training and 8-hour refresher training, as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Work within our Environment business line as part of our EHS team.
  • Assist with gathering and analyzing environmental data in both the field and office settings.
  • Assist in the preparation of investigation reports, assessments, permitting, and drawings.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
