From environmental planning, permitting, remediation, and site characterization to chemical data management and hydrogeology, Kleinfelder offers a variety of services designed to provide technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions. Step into Your New Role As an entry-level Environmental Scientist/Geologist, you will work on environmental assessment and remediation projects using knowledge professional guidelines and protocols to accomplish goals and objectives and learn to solve problems of diverse scopes. This position is available in Hamilton, NJ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, or related engineering degree
  • 0-2 years’ experience in the environmental field working on a large complex environmental assessment / remediation site.
  • Ability to work on various tasks depending on skill sets (Ground water sampling, soil sampling, project recovery, remedial system O&M, construction management, design, various remedial actions, ecological evaluations, data evaluation, and report writing)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Office experience related to scheduling, lab coordination, data evaluation, technical report writing, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of NJDEP regulations and guidance documents.
  • Knowledge of RCRA & CERCLA regulations and HAZMAT assessments.
  • Experience in hydrogeological and conceptual site modeling.
  • Experience conducting Vapor Intrusion.
  • GIS experience.
  • OSHA 40 HAZWOPER Training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with a variety of field assignments including groundwater sampling and soil sampling.
  • Perform field oversight of subcontractors once trained.
  • Prepare technical reports and evaluate site data to progress projects toward regulatory closure.
  • Establish strong, productive internal collaborative relationships with senior-level staff.
  • Participate in Kleinfelder’s safety culture.
