The Entry Level Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer position at GHD involves working within the Contaminated Assessment Remediation Group in Dallas, TX.   • Development of technical solutions using standard engineering/scientific methods on assignments of limited scope and complexity.
  • Preparation of more complex plans, designs, tables, etc., including non-routine calculations.
  • Presentation of results and preparation of data summaries for review.
  • Preparation of initial drafts of correspondence, reports, work plans, specifications, etc. for internal and/or external review.
  • Performing site inspections and collection of environmental field samples including soil, groundwater, surface water, and air.
  • Coordination and implementation of field work with some supervision.
  • Proposing field problems/work changes for review.
  • Preparation of draft budget cost tables from information provided by others and own investigations for review.
  • Larger task specific management under supervision and direction of supervisor or project manager/director.
  • Attendance at key project and/or client meetings.
  • 4-year Bachelor of Applied Science (Engineering, Geology, or Science) degree
  • 0-2 years' experience
  • Detail oriented with the ability to balance a diverse and changing workload
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, hardworking, with strong written, communication, and computer skills
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel out of town
  • Physically capable of working in non-ideal conditions
  • Medically fit and approved to wear a respirator
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus
  • Experience in environmental assessment and remediation strategies
  • Familiarity with client engagement approaches
  • Knowledge of balancing scope, schedule, and budget for projects
