About The Position

SCS Engineers is looking for an engineer in the St. Louis office to perform various activities related to environmental consulting. You will have the opportunity to embrace teamwork, growth, and develop professionally. Project responsibility will primarily focus on civil/environmental services, landfills, landfill infrastructure, composting, and other projects that may require design, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support.

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related engineering major from an accredited institution required.
• Minimum of 3 months of relevant environmental and/or engineering internship, work and/or research experience required.
• Professional Engineering license or progress toward a professional engineering license (i.e. E.I.T certification) preferred.
• Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
• Manage projects and personnel to meet both client and SCS expectations.
• Makes decisions independently based on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plans and coordinates work, and represents SCS at meetings and conferences.
• Fieldwork in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, etc.
• Office-based tasks including CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.
• Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
