About The Position

Fire Training Structure (FTS) is looking for an entry level engineering position at a small business which fabricates firefighter training buildings and associated props using shipping containers. FTS designs and fabricates industrial control panels. Tasks vary quite a bit and span several different disciplines. The ability to learn quickly and the willingness and the ability to complete a wide variety of tasks is the key qualifying attribute. FTS regularly creates and submits structural and electrical drawings to building departments across the USA.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering. (Preferred civil, mechanical, or electrical).
0-4 years. experience in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering is a plus.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with the international building code (IBC) and/or the National Electrical Code (NEC) is desirable.
Experience performing structural or electrical calculations is desirable.
2D and 3D CAD experience in industry is preferred.
Training/experience creating Structural or Electrical drawing.
Experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks is preferred.
Experience with programmable logic controllers.

Responsibilities

Writing/editing operations and maintenance manuals.
Creating bills for materials and working with the purchasing department to ensure correct materials are ordered and received.
Quality control inspections/reports.
Mechanical and electrical testing and troubleshooting related tasks.
Industry standards compliance tasks.
Creating shop drawings.
Performing technical research.
Drafting technical reports.
