We're seeking an entry-level User Experience (UX) Research and Test Engineer to join our Farmington Hills, MI team. This role involves collaborating with various regional and global teams, including Vehicle Competitiveness, Product Planning, Vehicle Connected Services, and Infotainment/Electrical Design teams. You will provide valuable feedback and help set the direction for system requirements for current and future Nissan In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) and telematics systems. As a UX Research and Test Engineer, you will provide detailed benchmark information to guide development, help establish target criteria and direction for screen layouts, execute customer clinics and user studies to gather insights and conduct physical validation testing to ensure the system meets its targets.   • Benchmark competitive IVI, connected car systems, and consumer electronics to provide market trend analysis and insights into customer expectations.
  • Identify key performance attributes and feature requirements to be integrated into Nissan products, enhancing HMI/GUI ease of use and customer satisfaction.
  • Review and evaluate information architecture, interaction designs, UX writing, and motion designs to ensure optimal user experience.
  • Conduct UX research using various methods, including usability tests, surveys, A/B tests, and other techniques.
  • Design tasks, questions, and prototype requirements; recruit and schedule sites and participants; collect observational and diary-based studies; conduct statistical analysis; and interpret data.
  • Create empathy maps and affinity diagrams and provide actionable recommendations based on the results.
  • Analyze third-party customer survey data to support system requirements and predict future performance.
  • Plan and support the testing, validation, and verification of IVI and telematics systems, ensuring high quality, on-time delivery, and overall system qualification.
  • Be familiar with UX analytics, accessibility, voice user interactions, responsive design, and micro-interactions.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in UX research, design, and writing, focusing on human factors related to Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biomedical, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or Human-centered Engineering.
  • Figma, Adobe XD, ProtoPie, Visio, Miro, FigJam, VBA, Qualtrics, Confluence, Jira, Kotlin, Java, Android OS, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), Microsoft Copilot.
