About The Position

The Linde Leadership and Technical Orientation Program (LTOP) is a program that is sponsored by Linde’s United States Bulk and On-Site unit. The program has a class of engineers that go through 52 weeks of training in a structured curriculum that is designed to give a very broad exposure to all aspects of plant operations with limited exposure to the broader Linde organization. The curriculum contains training common to operations with an opportunity for technical cross training. The LTOP is a mentored program, with each participant assigned a sponsor, and is specifically designed for those desiring to use an engineering/technical degree to leverage a management career and grow within the organization. In this role, the LTOP engineer will support the Linde data historian platform. This platform is used by plant operations and engineering to ensure safe, reliable operations and supply of Linde products, and as a source for many downstream enterprise applications and tools. Specific activities that will be performed by the engineer include but is not limited to the following: Support of plant data Historian application and servers Custom application development and use of common scripting languages including Python and PowerShell Use of Application Programming Interfaces (API) to automate new and existing processes Testing and implementation of upgrades to commercial software applications Develop training for operations personnel on data historian tools and applications Executing projects in accordance with budgets, standards, and facility operating schedules Participating in technical sales and business development activities. Estimated start date for the 2026-2027 LTOP program will be on or around July 1, 2026. You will be assigned to a location that minimizes the need for future relocation and must be willing to relocate for this program within the U.S if the need arises. The incumbents will be assigned to the Tonawanda, NY location. Some travel is required to selected locations in the US to complete assignments, participate in project activities, or for group and individual training.

Requirements

  • A B.S. degree in Computer Science or Engineering; or similar IT related degree.
  • A 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) out of 4.0 is highly desirable.
  • 0 - 3 years of experience preferred.
  • Must have very strong technical skill sets.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, have strong communications skills, and a strong will to build and maintain productive relationships across departmental lines.
  • Must be a self-starter and ability to work independently and participate on cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and obtain results.
  • Must be detail-oriented with an ability and desire to persevere.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to other domestic regions and office locations. Travel is normally not expected to exceed 25%25.
