Department 413 is seeking highly motivated candidates to support design and development of VIRGINIA Class and next generation submarines. D413 is responsible for fluid systems including hydraulic, auxiliary, habitability and life support, HVAC, seawater and compressed gas systems. These systems are essential to the ability to sustain life underwater, submarine operation, and accomplishment of the ship’s mission. Fluid system engineers are responsible for the design and development of all aspects of these systems from concept development to ship delivery. In addition to the design and development of fluid systems, engineers in D413 are exposed to various aspects of submarine design, construction, and operation, which provide opportunities for continuous growth, leadership, and advancement as an engineer. This may include rotation experiences to directly support planning and/or construction engineering to assist with downstream design incorporation. Individuals selected for this position will be responsible for development and execution of projects supporting current and future VIRGINIA Class design efforts, design changes, and system improvement tasking. This position requires continued progression of technical and project management skills. Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home.
