About The Position

POWER Engineers is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery - Small Utilities Department in our Tyler, TX office. The Electrical Engineer candidate will perform a variety of engineering tasks as assigned by our electric utility clients, including substation, transmission, and distribution. They are expected to maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients.

Requirements

• BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an ABET-accredited university preferably with a power option.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering.
• Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Internship or co-op experience with electric utilities or industrial facilities.
• Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform the detailed design of low to extra high voltage substations including physical design, P&C design, and system relaying and protection.
• Perform the detailed design of distribution lines up to 25kV, including overhead and underground design.
• Perform the detailed design of transmission lines up to 345kV.
• Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients.
• Manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team setting.
• Learn, understand, and adhere to department standards and processes while completing complex and technically challenging designs.
