About The Position

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support and implement our power engineering services by performing all aspects of conventional electrical engineering design and analysis for power generating plants, Substations, industrial facilities, and auxiliary support systems.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (Power Engineering focus preferred) from an ABET accredited university
  • FE/EIT certification is required
  • Experience in the power generation industry is a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Problem solving skills, detail focused, results driven, quality decision making, strong listening skills, and the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Experience with Etap, Easypower, SKM, CDEGS is a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bluebeam or Adobe is a plus
  • Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Good oral and written communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply electrical codes, design guides, standards, applicable engineering codes, and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in a variety of engineering deliverables such as schematics, one-line diagrams, meter and relay diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, demolition drawings and arrangement diagrams.
  • Support the implementation of protective and control systems, DC control schematics, develop bills of materials, circuit schedules, conduit schedules, and complete work accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with required project deadlines and budgets.
  • Support research related to equipment and/or materials selection. Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
  • Assist with engineering calculations such as cable sizing, breaker sizing, voltage drop, load flow and short circuit analysis, arc flash analysis, and equipment sizing for transformers, switchgears, backup generators, inverters, and batteries, etc.
  • Assist with equipment specifications, evaluate bidders, and review supplier drawings against contract requirements.
  • Help ensure client specifications and project objectives are incorporated into work products.
  • Estimated 25% travel, mostly day trips within CA, will be required.
