Entry-Level Electrical Design Engineer

About The Position

The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) Design Build Flight Test Instrumentation organization is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Design Engineer to support multiple platforms for Flight Test to join our team in Berkeley, MO. In this team, a design engineer has the primary responsibility for the synthesis of requirements, creation of engineering definition with electrical schematics and drawings that define the electrical hardware required to install a flight test data system. Flight test sometimes interfaces with the production wiring and is located throughout the aircraft, giving an employee a chance to get familiar with different areas of the platform. Design Build designers work the entire design cycle including support of requirement definition, layouts, coordination with mechanical designers, preliminary design review, engineering release, coordination with manufacturing engineers and suppliers, occasional shipside support, and change incorporation. Flight Test Instrumentation design creates the engineering definition for the hardware needed to fabricate and install the flight test data acquisition system. For electrical design, engineering is typically created with Mentor Graphics and our legacy data is in AutoCad. A flight test program will accompany a new contract for a modification or upgrade and collect data from the plane in flight. Typically, the team is given requirements for flight test equipment to be installed from other teams within Boeing Test and Evaluation, and we determine where and how to locate it on the air vehicle.
