This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who want to start a career in diesel mechanics. You will work alongside experienced technicians and receive hands-on training in a professional shop environment.

Position Overview
As an Entry-Level Diesel Mechanic / Mechanic Trainee, you will assist with the maintenance, inspection, and repair of heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment while learning the trade under the supervision of certified mechanics. This role requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

• Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
• Mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience (automotive, equipment, farm, military, or trade school experience considered)
• Strong desire to learn diesel mechanics as a long-term career
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Michigan Mechanic Trainee Permit
• Ability to work in a shop environment, including standing, lifting, and using hand tools

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment
• Perform inspections and basic diagnostics under the supervision of certified technicians
• Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using company training
• Assist with fuel systems, brakes, suspension, and hydraulic components
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Demonstrate integrity, reliability, and a positive attitude
