What you’ll be challenged to do: As an Entry Level Construction Inspector, you will support the observation and documentation of construction activities across a variety of infrastructure projects. You will work directly on active job sites, learn industry‑standard inspection practices, and contribute to ensuring that materials, workmanship, and procedures meet project specifications. You will collaborate with experienced inspectors, gain hands‑on exposure to field operations, and play a key role in delivering safe, high‑quality, and compliant construction outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-3 years of construction industry or inspection experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in outdoor, hands-on work and supporting inspection activities.
  • Basic familiarity with construction procedures, materials, and field operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn inspection methods, documentation standards, and field safety practices.
  • Ability to work safely on active construction sites, including regular exposure to outdoor weather, loud noise, moving equipment, and varying site conditions.
  • Capable of performing physical field tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling, and lifting 20 lbs frequently and up to 80–90 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to travel to project locations, including potential short or long‑term out‑of‑state assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to construction, engineering, or field inspection (internships, vocational programs, or related experience).
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Measure distances to verify accuracy of dimensions for structural installations and layouts.
  • Verify levels, alignment, and elevations of installations.
  • Observe work in progress to ensure procedures and materials comply with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing when required.
  • Examine workmanship of completed installations and document conformance to standards.
  • Interpret basic blueprints and specifications and communicate findings or deviations to senior inspectors or supervisors.
  • Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
  • Maintain daily logs of construction and inspection activities and compare progress against project expectations.
