About The Position

The Companion Caregiver at Maxim Healthcare Services is responsible for providing essential non-medical support to patients/clients in their homes. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients through social interaction, exercise encouragement, and assistance with daily activities while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred.
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred.
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred.
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills preferred.
• Proficiency in the English language is required.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provides 'hands off' care such as encouraging socialization and mild exercise programs.
• Encourages medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications.
• Supervises the safety of the patient/client during bathing, toileting, and dressing.
• Assists with grocery shopping and performs light housekeeping chores.
• Arrives at the client's home on time and leaves when the shift schedule is complete.
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner.
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures.
