About The Position

The Opportunity: Join Glumac, a Tetra Tech Company, as an Entry Level Commissioning Agent and launch your career helping deliver high-performance commercial and institutional buildings. You’ll split time between the field and office learning to write test procedures, run functional tests, troubleshoot systems, and coordinate with project teams. This is a hands-on, mentored role ideal for a recent graduate who’s curious about MEP systems, enjoys problem-solving, and wants real project experience that impacts how buildings operate long term. You may register here: Glumac Commissioning Intern & New Grad Virtual Info Event – Fill out form Position Summary: Working with senior commissioning staff, you’ll develop and execute commissioning plans, review submittals and startup reports, perform pre-functional and functional testing, document results, and track issue resolution. You’ll attend design/construction meetings, support owner operations teams (and LEED documentation when needed), and help close out projects with clear reports and lessons learned. Travel to project sites and on-site physical work are required.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, organization, and basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Learning mindset - comfortable asking questions and taking direction.
  • Ability to work on site for extended periods, climb ladders/stairs, and lift >20 lbs.
  • Basic knowledge of MEP systems and exposure to construction or facility operations.
  • Driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel to project sites.
  • Impact, Innovation, and Inclusivity should be core values.

Nice To Haves

  • LEED® accreditation.
  • Experience with building automation controls and instrumentation.
  • Degree in engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Commissioning Authority and Project Manager to align commissioning scope with project budget and schedule.
  • Attend design and construction meetings to plan commissioning activities.
  • Prepare commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional test procedures using Glumac standards and project documentation.
  • Review equipment submittals and shop drawings and incorporate findings into test documentation.
  • Perform site commissioning: pre-functional checks, witness and direct functional tests, document results, and produce field reports.
  • Diagnose system issues, recommend corrective actions, and coordinate contractor retesting.
  • Maintain commissioning documentation: progress reports, issue logs, system manuals, and final commissioning/closeout reports.
  • Support owner operations staff with system training and sequences of operation.
  • Assist with LEED® documentation as required.
