Your role will include building and managing relationships with in-house teams and contractors while providing design and consulting services that are needed by facility managers and owners. As a Civil Engineer for projects, you will be required to demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and client focus/customer service; be resourceful and flexible, effective at handling multiple tasks; have good computer skills; have strong presentation, written and verbal skills; and be able to effectively be delegated to while working in a collaborative format with multiple team members. You will be required to: Listen to our clients’ needs and provide value to them by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost and life cycle cost. Communicate your design recommendations to our project team, construction contractors and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email and phone as necessary. Work alone on projects or work on a project team with other technical staff to design and detail new systems that are needed, assuring that the work is accurate and coordinated, and that the quality assurance measures have been followed. Provide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirements. Specifically, you will be required to: Participate in the pursuit of projects for new and existing clients by meeting with them to discuss the projects, conducting presentations and writing proposals. Perform Civil design calculations following office standards. Stay abreast of new design and analysis technologies and building materials through continuing education activities. Specific design related services include: Overall site planning Site grading and volume calculations Storm water management design Storm water pollution control systems Gravity sewer design Pump station design Pressure distribution systems Roadway design Develop specification documents
