About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our AECOM Transportation Department in our Greenville, SC office. AECOM is searching for candidates that can be creative and impactful on a wide range of transportation projects. As an Entry-Level Civil Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts to detailed design development and through construction. This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department's current and future portfolio of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire date

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity and minimal experience with the following through education / projects or internships:
  • Creating models and plansheets with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Design of roadways, or general site development
  • Developing quantity take offs and cost estimates
  • Developing technical specifications for contractors

Responsibilities

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates sketches, preliminary and final drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Design of utilities, roadways, general site development, grading and drainage, erosion control, typical sections, profiles, cross sections
  • Preparation of drawings, specifications, basis of design, technical memos.
