About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer - Aviation to support airport projects in Hunt Valley, MD. This role involves planning, design, engineering, and construction management for various airport facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The position is designed for recent graduates or those with equivalent experience, providing an opportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this role.
  • Valid Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and client required background check(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Experience using AutoCAD/Civil 3D design software.
  • Experience in performing construction administration and inspection.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Ability to work in both an office and field (construction) environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts civil engineering design for airport projects.
  • Completes designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and final working drawings for preparation of construction plans related to airport development projects.
  • Prepares construction specifications for airport development projects per FAA Advisory Circular 150/5370-10 and State requirements.
  • Prepares design reports, schedules, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
  • Collects and analyzes data to support design and construction phases of projects.
  • Uses various computer software for design development and prepares plans in Civil 3D.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other airport/civil engineering, architectural, and engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, Utility companies, permitting agencies, contractors, government and regulatory agencies, and clients.
  • Performs construction administration and construction inspection.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule.
  • Assists in the development of airport master plans and layout plans.
  • Participates in site visits to assess existing conditions and gather field data.
  • Contributes to the preparation of environmental impact assessments for airport projects.
  • Assists in the development of pavement management systems for airport facilities.
  • Participates in project meetings and helps prepare meeting minutes and action items.
  • Supports the development of grant applications for airport improvement projects.
