As GFT continues to grow and expand, we are seeking an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to support our team in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum 3 days of onsite office attendance. What you'll be challenged to do: As an Entry Level Bridge Engineer, you will perform bridge calculations, designs, modeling, quantity take offs, and plan preparation. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Structures.
- 0-2 years of experience in bridge design and/or detailing.
- Familiarity with plan development with CADD (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of geometry, design manuals, and design guidelines.
- Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and produce quality work as part of a design team.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.
- Prior experience with structural design software such as: Openbridge, CSIBridge, or STAAD.
- Familiarity with AASHTO Bridge Design Standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide 3D modelling, design, and drafting support for transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, utility vaults, noise abatement walls, sign structures, ITS structures, etc.
- Perform quantity calculations and develop cost estimates.
- Assist in the development of construction contract documents and review construction documents such as shop and working drawings.
- Coordinate work activities with other disciplines.
- Review inspection reports and perform bridge load ratings.
