About The Position

AECOM's Water Business Line is seeking a talented Entry-Level Architectural Designer / Architect to support water, wastewater treatment, flood protection, and associated projects in our Chelmsford, MA office. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful national group under the direct responsible charge and supervision of Licensed Architects that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
  • Must have a valid U.S driver's license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Architecture, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Prior related intern and/or professional experience.
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
  • Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position such as Revit, Bluebeam, and other commercially available architectural packages.
  • Detail-oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong logic and writing skills.
  • Documents time and effort accurately.
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments which require the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out architectural tasks associated with the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Exercise architectural judgment for the development of architectural plans, elevations, sections, and details including three dimensional views and life safety plans.
  • Prepare technical specifications.
  • Verify compliance with applicable codes and standards/practice in the alteration of existing facilities.
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within a Revit model.
  • Work under the mentorship and supervision of a senior architect.
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to sites throughout North America.
