About The Position

Qualifications: People who come from a background in skilled trade professions and are mechanically inclined, with a customer service mindset. Technical or trade school background. Previous field experience is a big plus, like cabling, wiring, residential installations, or working for Best Buy Geek Squad. Day-to-day duties: They will receive training on and be doing the following: 1. Installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and programming of Burglar Alarms, CCTV (IP & Analog), DVRs, and Access Control Systems for residential customers. They will also convert older systems to new systems. 2. Working with window breaks, door units, and smoke detectors. 3. Troubleshooting signal issues to ensure the alarm functions properly if needed. 4. Perform daily hands-on field interaction with customers at the site level and some smaller customer care levels. 5. Test and verify signals for equipment 6. Train customers on using the equipment and how to connect to the devices and answer all questions including ensuring that they have no additional need (equipment, etc.). 7. Completing necessary customer paperwork for each job. 8. Cost ALL PARTS utilized for each job installed before closing the job out. 9. Maintaining accurate truck inventory, 10. Provide top-quality customer service. 11. Achieve 90% Goal Attainment for completed installations and zero “go-backs”. This is very important along with being reliable and possessing an adaptive personality. This person should have stellar interpersonal skills, with the ability to think quickly on their feet, read non-verbal cues from the home's residents, and have a solution-oriented, customer-centric attitude. It's important to give the customer confidence that their issue will be resolved. Tools Needed/PPE Gear: 6-foot ladder (they can get a Little Giant that folds up if they drive a sedan), screwdrivers but preferably an electric drill, wire cutters, and hand sheetrock saw. (This may take them some time to build up, but they need to understand the expectation) Their Own Vehicle: FAQ: What radius are they traveling to? They are going to try and keep them within a 60-90 min radius FAQ: Is there mileage etc.? only reimburses for mileage on the rare occasion that they must go over 40 miles from one location to another. Once out of training, they will be able to reimburse $100 per week for gas (Submit receipts) Recruiting FAQs: FAQ: Is there weekend work? Yes, the normal schedules are Mon-Fri or Tue-Sat. There may be times when they will need to work six days a week to catch up on work. FAQ: How long is the training? Depends on how quickly the person picks up on the skill and when they get their license. Typically, it's around 3-5 weeks depending on the individual FAQ: Do they get to expense a ladder/tools? They do NOT get to expense the equipment/they have to provide their own ladder and tools and a foldable ladder is highly suggested because they fit in a smaller car. They will need their own basic hand tools including cordless drill, screw driver, snips, crimpers.
