About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neonatology, has an opening for a full-time Research Services Professional at the Perinatal Research Center on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The Perinatal Research Center provides multi-disciplinary, basic, and translational research in the areas of Perinatal biology and medicine, functioning as an auxiliary service center, providing laboratory and other research-related facilities and services to Principal Investigators with the Section of Neonatology, and also to other Principal Investigators in other departments. Key Responsibilities: This job entails performing molecular biology and immunohistochemistry to examine the result of brain ischemia on developing brains. Additional duties will include brain collections, behavioral testing and careful record keeping. There will be opportunities to perform additional experiments in electrophysiology. This person will be involved in updating and formulating experimental protocols. Other duties as directed by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.
  • Must be willing and able to pass national criminal and sex offender background checks.
  • Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug screen through Children’s Hospital Colorado.
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques, including safety procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
  • Prior experience or background within an experimental or wet lab.
