About The Position

Under the direction of the Makerspace Manager, the Entrepreneurship Outreach Specialist (EOS) will support youth development in entrepreneurship and foster an entrepreneurial mindset among K–12 students across Wyoming. This position will focus on designing and delivering engaging, hands-on programming that introduces students (ages 8–17) to entrepreneurship through creativity, problem-solving, and prototyping within the Innovation Wyrkshop. The EOS will assist in developing curriculum materials, supporting youth camps, and promoting opportunities that encourage students to explore innovative ideas and bring them to life. This role emphasizes entrepreneurship education and complements existing STEM outreach efforts by helping students think like innovators, creators, and problem-solvers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current University of Wyoming student (preferred, especially College of Business students)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship, innovation, or startups
  • Experience working with youth or teaching students ages 8–17
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple, engaging way
  • Interest in prototyping, making, or hands-on learning (preferred but not required)
  • Basic experience with event planning or social media promotion
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and facilitation of youth entrepreneurship camps and programming for students ages 8–17.
  • Design and create engaging educational materials that introduce entrepreneurial concepts in an accessible and hands-on way.
  • Encourage students to explore ideas, problem-solve, and prototype solutions using Innovation Wyrkshop resources.
  • Support statewide collaboration efforts by helping develop scalable entrepreneurship-focused programming.
  • Interact positively and effectively with a diverse population of K–12 students, educators, and community members.
  • Maintain a welcoming, energetic, and supportive learning environment for youth participants.
  • Assist with promotion of programs through basic social media and outreach efforts.
  • Support planning and coordination of events related to youth entrepreneurship programming.
  • Provide general support within the Innovation Wyrkshop, including assisting participants with basic tools, technologies, and creative processes.
  • Represent the Innovation Wyrkshop at events or outreach activities as needed, which may include limited travel.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions to support program success and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
