About The Position

The Entitlements Specialist is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Help Center. This includes monitoring the entry and exit of clients into the building, intaking new clients, answering the phone, scheduling clients for appointments with on-site and off-site providers, data entry, enrolling clients in all public benefits, managing internal and external referrals, representing the program at outreach events, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • The position of Entitlements Specialist requires a high school diploma, college experience preferred, and experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and the cultural sensitivity to work with a broad range of constituents, and must be fluent in Spanish.
  • The Entitlements Specialist must conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism and uphold the highest moral and ethical standards at all times.
  • The physical ability to perform the essential job functions is necessary.
  • In addition, the Entitlements Specialist shall perform any duties as required to meet the needs of the program and the clients we serve.
  • The agency reserves the right to review and change job duties and responsibilities as the need arises.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the front desk operations of the help center, monitoring the entry and exit of clients into the building and answering the phones.
  • Responsible for intaking new clients and scheduling them appointments with on-site and off-site providers, and calling clients to confirm or schedule appointments.
  • Responsible for data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks as assigned, including recording and managing outcomes in the agency and funder databases, and monitoring internal and external referrals sent through electronic platforms.
  • Responsible for screening clients for public benefits eligibility and assisting clients with their benefits applications, recertifications, case updates, and mediation, with special attention to SNAP, TANF, WIC, and HEAP applications. Provide generalized case management support as needed.
  • Representing the Help Center program and distributing literature at outreach events. This includes promoting the immigration legal program to internal and external audiences, scheduling clients' immigration relief screenings, and providing Spanish-language translation as needed.
