About The Position

The Entitlement and Benefits (NOEP) Coordinator will facilitate the execution of the Isaacs Center’s state NOEP contract, which includes outreach related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) outreach and referrals for internal and external food services to older adults and families. Schedule: 35 hours per week Salary Range: $55,503.34 – $58,000 Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree required; Masters preferred
  • Bilingual, English/Chinese required
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work some flexible hours (e.g., evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving or Christmas Holiday)
  • Ability to work in-person and remotely as required
  • The Food Security (NOEP) Coordinator must possess strong writing, speaking, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • The candidate must hold at least an Associates or Bachelors Degree, Masters preferred.
  • The candidate must have demonstrated experience providing exemplary customer service.
  • Experience and knowledge of public benefits and/or case management are strongly recommended.
  • The candidate must have experience working with diverse and high-needs populations and value team building.

  • Prior experience working with the elderly highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct assistance to participants with public benefit applications and renewals
  • Targeted and extensive outreach to community members experiencing or at risk for food insecurity
  • Develop and launch education campaigns in collaboration with agency directors on food security and SNAP benefits
  • Attend and present at community meetings, as well as scheduled NOEP contract meetings
  • Facilitate group information sessions regarding SNAP and other benefits, in-person and virtually
  • Collaborate with case management services throughout the agency
  • Assist with outreach efforts to increase participation
  • Make referrals to available community resources as needed
  • Develop and foster relationships with community and government agencies.
  • Prepare documentation (assessments, case logs, case notes, etc.) as stipulated by contractual and agency standards and procedures.
  • Track progress and units of service
  • Develop reporting monthly or as needed
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedure, including policies related to COVID safety
  • Other duties as required.
