Scope of Position: Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager – Entertainment Travel is responsible for driving business from the entertainment industry to Austin Proper Hotel. This role focuses on engaging travel professionals, tour and production managers, music labels, field publicity teams, corporate media clients, and other entertainment-focused travel decision-makers.  Additional Vertical Markets include Real Estate, Food & Beverage and Energy clients. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in entertainment travel trends and client relationship development. They will represent Austin Proper as a best-in-class destination for production crews, film/tv, music, and talent-based travel. With creativity, poise, and hustle, they’ll help shift market share from competitors, uncover new opportunities, and elevate Austin Proper’s profile within this dynamic vertical.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in entertainment or VIP travel segments.
  • Strong understanding of Austin’s entertainment industry.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized and tech-savvy.
  • Familiar with Delphi FDC and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the entertainment and media travel space.
  • Proactively solicit, close and service business business from entertainment-related groups.
  • Represent Austin Proper at industry events and client activations.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and Director of Sales.
  • Coordinate closely with hotel operations teams.
  • Handle the entire sales process.
  • Provide documentation in the hotel’s CRM (Delphi FDC).
  • Monitor competitor activity.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service throughout the sales cycle.
