About The Position

The Buyer for Entertainment Costume Fabrication at Universal Studios Hollywood is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and procuring all costume-related items in alignment with assigned budgets and operational needs. This role involves collaborating with costume designers and management to ensure the timely acquisition of materials, including fabrics, notions, and ready-made garments, while maintaining accurate accounting records and vendor relationships.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of costume shop/wardrobe buying experience.
• Strong understanding of costume construction and knowledge of fabrics, textiles, and wardrobe supplies.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain costume budgets and work well under pressure.
• Valid driver's license required for this position.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ordering in high volume for theme park operations.
• Knowledge of immediate Los Angeles and surrounding area for costume production and product vendors.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials including fabric, notions, and accessories for costume construction.
• Purchase ready-made garments, shoes, and operational supplies as requested by management.
• Reconcile credit card receipts/statements and monitor production spending accounts.
• Administer online shopping and returns as needed.
• Process invoices and returns, monitoring expenditures and budgets.
• Maintain accounting records for all purchases and payments processed.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Coordinate the receiving of purchased goods and ensure delivery to users.
• Oversee the ordering and organization of shop supplies and inventories.
• Create and maintain fabric and purchasing source books.
