Frankfurt Kurnit, one of Crain's New York "Best Places to Work", is seeking a highly motivated Entertainment Associate to work closely with established partners and a diverse roster of clients across film, television, digital media, and emerging platforms. We are seeking a diligent and committed attorney who is admitted to practice in California.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage and organize a heavy volume of time-sensitive matters and multiple clients in a fast-paced environment, working with the Entertainment Group and other attorneys throughout the Firm, with exceptional attention to detail, pragmatism, and judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and also independently depending on the assignments.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Interest in attending client and entertainment industry-related events.
  • 1 – 3 years of law firm and/or in-house legal experience post-law school required.
  • Membership in the California Bar.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of entertainment-related agreements, including talent, production, licensing, and development agreements.
  • Negotiate deal terms for the acquisition of intellectual property and the engagement of writers, directors, producers, actors, comedians, animators, podcasters, broadcasters, and influencers.
  • Provide strategic analysis of entertainment, intellectual property, and contract issues.
  • Advise clients in connection with intellectual property issues and the customary parameters of deal terms in the film, television, and digital industries.
  • Interface directly with clients, agents, managers, and business affairs executives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
