About The Position

Under limited supervision, designs, develops, and deploys web-based applications that enhance university operations. This role offers hands-on experience in both artificial intelligence and enterprise web development, working under the guidance of senior developers and architects. The position contributes to projects to automate processes, improve user experience, and support data-driven decision making across University departments. Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and must be insurable as defined in the UT System UTS 157, as applicable to the performance of essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

Two years in software development using C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
One year of incorporating AI technologies (Gen AI, Agentic AI) into solutions.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and maintaining web-based applications using 3-Tier architecture.
Support the design and implementation of AI models and algorithms for business applications.
Use AI in the design, creation and evaluation of business applications and processes.
Help collect, clean, and prepare datasets for machine learning tasks.
Participate in testing and optimizing AI and web solutions for performance and usability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders.
Use source control and issue tracking tools (e.g., Git, JIRA).
Follow design specifications and usability principles in application development
Stay current with trends in AI, web development, and software engineering.
Assist in code reviews and contribute to documentation and prototypes.
Support projects through the full software development life-cycle (SDLC).
Assists in the implementation of complex off-the-shelf components or applicationsrequiring development.
Develops solutions based on functionality requirements which are technical strategies that enable e-business solutions in support of the University's business functions.
Implements usability design principles.
Works with the Database Administrators and the Web Solutions Architect on the design, development, testing, and implementation of custom applications.
Follows applicable software development processes, polices, procedures, and coding standards.
Identifies system deficiencies and works with Senior Web Developer and Web Solutions Architect to identify the solutions.
Works to meet all development deadlines and schedules while consistently delivering high-quality products; prioritizes and executes multiple tasks effectively.
Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with team members; follows through with commitments and fosters mutual trust with fellow employees; cooperates with a variety of people and achieves results.
