  • Solid SQL/data modeling; familiarity with caching patterns and idempotent processing.
  • Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers/orchestration, and observability tooling.
  • CI/CD familiarity (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.) and testing frameworks (unit/integration/contract).
  • Excellent written/verbal communication; ability to translate requirements into clear designs and tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maturing SDLC: CI/CD, IaC (Terraform), automated QA, and introducing AI‑assisted engineering (copilots, test generation).
  • Prior work with event‑driven architectures, API gateways, and secrets/identity (OAuth/OIDC, mTLS).
  • Experience with underwriting automation, allocation logic/tiers, and trade management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement backend services (REST/GraphQL) and event/messaging flows for LOS‑centric integrations.
  • Build resilient adapters for pricing/lock, underwriting allocation, disclosures, and third‑party data (e.g., FEMA).
  • Author mapping specs and schema validators; enforce contract tests and backward compatibility.
  • Implement auth, secrets management, and least‑privilege access for integrations in alignment with Architecture security patterns; champion privacy‑by‑design.
  • Implement SLIs/SLOs defined by Architecture; instrument metrics, structured logging, and alerts; participate in on‑call with sensible runbooks.
  • Partner with Product/BAs to turn BRDs into engineering tasks; keep JIRA tickets crisp with acceptance criteria.
