About The Position

The Enterprise Systems Engineer leads enterprise security and cloud infrastructure operations, with primary ownership of cloud and on-prem security, reliability, and automation. This role partners closely with Sony Pictures Entertainment enterprise security to execute required procedures, audits, and compliance reporting, and collaborates with IT support and the help desk to align identity, network, and end-user systems with security standards. The role is hands-on while also defining processes, playbooks, and escalation paths so other teams can provide first-level support. Success in this role requires strong infrastructure and security expertise, along with a disciplined approach to automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, or IT security.
  • Proven ability to deliver security and compliance programs, including enterprise partner requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, infrastructure as code (Terraform), and automation in production environments.
  • Experience operating security tooling, monitoring, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience leading infrastructure projects and driving reliable operations.
  • Working knowledge of identity platforms and networking fundamentals (Active Directory, Google Workspace, VLANs, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience defining operational processes, runbooks, and escalation paths for help desk or IT support teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with the responsible use of AI-assisted tooling in operations.
  • Physical requirements: Lifting and moving up to 30lbs. Sitting for long periods of time Continuous use of keyboard and mouse (fine motor skills), and monitor/screens (visual focus)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute infrastructure projects, including planning, delivery, and ongoing maintenance with limited oversight.
  • Implement Sony Pictures Entertainment enterprise security procedures and policies; coordinate audits and compliance reporting.
  • Oversee AWS infrastructure operations and security controls, partnering with engineering and DevOps teams on platform needs.
  • Implement and maintain security tooling, firewalls, and monitoring systems.
  • Manage vulnerability assessments and remediation.
  • Build automation for provisioning, configuration, and compliance workflows, using infrastructure as code.
  • Oversee identity and access platforms, including Active Directory and Google Workspace, in partnership with IT support.
  • Partner with IT support and the help desk on end-user systems, mobile device management, and networking to ensure security compliance.
  • Define operational processes, documentation, and escalation paths to help desk teams handle monitoring and first-level troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical guidance to teammates and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
