Position Overview: The Enterprise Systems Engineer Senior is responsible for the installation/configuration, maintenance/operation, and monitoring/troubleshooting of all systems/applications supporting Experity’s internal and external customers. This role is heavily involved in project planning/execution, which includes defining the needs, benefits, costs, and tasks required to complete each project. This individual must also have the ability to research new products, services, and technology, allowing for continued innovation with the services provided by the team.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of system administration or similar work experience.
  • Two years of supervisory or leadership.
  • Strong overall knowledge of servers, networking, Windows, and linux.
  • HAProxy or similar load balancer
  • Automation (Ansible preferred)
  • Windows Server experience
  • Linux experience
  • Strong documentation abilities
  • Strong system security skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced AD knowledge including group policy, FSMO roles and forests.
  • Experience with HP, Cisco, and VMWare.
  • MCSA, AWS Certified SysOps or other certifications.
  • Knowledgable on ITIL.
  • Solid understanding of ITSM concepts .
  • HIPAA Awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot complex IT-related issues and resolve them quickly.
  • Determine thresholds and configure monitoring software to monitor keys systems for proper operation.
  • Advanced installation of servers to support new functionality for products/systems.
  • Perform maintenance of servers and other hardware devices to maintain high uptime.
  • Work on projects in a team and individual setting.
  • Determine and track milestones and tasks needed to complete large complex projects.
  • Adhere to and enforce security policies.
  • Perform advanced datacenter AC and UPS maintenance.
  • Prioritize, track, and complete assigned tasks.
  • Organize IT-related paperwork and other items.
  • Keep management updated on project status.
  • Perform and maintain system backups.
  • Perform daily health checks of all critical systems.
  • Evaluate new technology and products and how they may benefit the company.
  • Monitor and maintain data and VM replication to DR site.
  • Connects team goals and objectives to overall strategy.
  • Provides oversight and direction to direct reports, providing frequent and timely feedback.
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Administer formal performance reviews in accordance with company practice.
  • Manages performance deficiencies in a timely and clear manner, taking disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Maintains employee work schedules including training, vacations and paid time off, telecommuting and overtime scheduling.
  • Identifies problems, creates and implements effective solutions.
  • Creates and implements new practices, processes and practices.
  • Consciously creates a workplace culture that is consistent with the organization's core values.
