Under the direction and supervision of the Administrative Director of Information Systems and the Chief Information Officer, the Enterprise Systems Analyst/Programmer supports the management, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise-level applications, including the Ellucian Colleague ERP system. This is a full-time regular position. The Enterprise Systems Analyst/Programmer will: Administer Colleague and other enterprise applications and databases. Perform software modifications and execute system processes. Manage user and system security requirements. Evaluate and resolve data inconsistencies and system issues. Review and apply patches and updates. Configure systems and maintain data extracts and technical integrations with supplementary systems. Collaborate with network engineers on server maintenance and upgrades In addition to technical oversight, the Analyst/Programmer will collaborate with operational teams across the College to: Troubleshoot and resolve reported issues. Identify opportunities for process improvement. Develop and implement technology-based solutions. Define and promote best practices for aligning business processes with available technologies.

  • Monitor and maintain enterprise application systems, including but not limited to the suite of Ellucian products: Colleague, Self-Service, Ethos, Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP), and Experience.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain data and application integration between Colleague and supplementary systems.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve enterprise application system issues.
  • Manage user security for Colleague and other enterprise application systems, including designing, documenting, and granting security roles and permissions.
  • Assist the IT team members and divisions throughout the College in effectively pulling and reporting on Colleague ERP data.
  • Evaluate and support Colleague programming needs using Envision and other relevant programming languages.
  • Respond to and maintain assigned service requests in the Help Desk ticketing system.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and best practice guidelines.
  • Collaborate with end users to analyze, document, and resolve functional and operational challenges.
  • Provide systems analysis to ensure effective use of enterprise application systems.
  • Facilitate technical sessions with Ellucian professional services and other third-party consultants.
  • Coordinate and assist system maintenance activities, including backups and system clones.
  • Review, evaluate, and support the implementation of software patches and updates in a timely manner.
  • Track assigned tasks and projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison between users of various technology systems and technical teams.
  • Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute.

  • Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College.
  • Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification.
  • Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek.
  • Aptitude for programming in a high-level computer language, possessing strong analytical and logic skills, while adhering to established programming standards.
  • Ability to work with end users to analyze report needs, modify existing reports, and develop new reports.
  • Ability to write instructions and issue commands for database reporting, including the use of SQL reporting tools.
  • Must be able to administer and provide technical support for Ellucian Colleague or similar Enterprise Resource Platform system.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, instruction manuals, service manuals, and other supporting documentation.
  • Skilled with UNIX/Linux and Windows.
  • Timely, clear, and accurate communication and prioritization of system incidents to software vendors.
  • Ability to think outside the box in providing effective system solutions.
  • Knowledgeable in various programming languages such as Visual Studio, C#, Envision, VB.NET, SQL, and other languages.
  • Ability to adapt and learn programming in multiple platforms and technologies.
  • Familiarity with the proper use of APIs.
  • Effective at communicating in a positive, respectful, courteous, and professional manner and maintaining professionalism, patience, and understanding in stressful situations.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances and move tables, chairs, and media equipment when necessary.

  • Associate's degree (A.A.S.) from a two-year college or technical school in Information Technology, Programming, Computer Technology, Business, or a related field of study.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in Computer Programming/Analysis, Database Administration.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Programming, Computer Technology, Mathematics, Science, Business, Psychology, Statistics, or a related field of study will substitute for up to one (1) year of required work experience.

  • Experience with administration and performing software upgrades/patches to an Enterprise Resource Platform used in higher education.
  • Experience with Ellucian products to include but not limited to Colleague, Self-Service, Ethos, ILP, Experience, CRM Recruit, CRM Advise, Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP), Ellucian's Colleague Studio, and programming in Envision.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as the Entrinsik Informer report writer and Microsoft SQL Management Studio.
  • Experience in database administration, use of programming, and database tools in an MS SQL environment.
  • Experience in technical project scheduling and implementation.
  • Experience using Microsoft's SQL database in terms of administration tasks and a working knowledge of utilizing SQL's functions in a production environment.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • SCC BEN Dollars - Eligible Employees: Full-time status. Regular employees with an FTE of 0.75 or greater will be eligible for SCC Ben Dollars. All employees will be required to elect a health insurance option. If the cost of insurance coverage selected by an employee exceeds the SCC Ben Dollars available, all additional costs will be withheld from the employee's paycheck. Any SCC Ben Dollars that the employee does not elect to use for the purchase of dependent health and dental insurance will be paid to the employee in cash at $0.93 per $1.00 benefit dollar. All amounts paid are subject to withholding for income and employment taxes, but not subject to the College's contribution toward the Retirement Savings Plan - Group Retirement Account (GRA).
