About The Position

GDIT seeks a highly motivated and experienced Enterprise Senior Systems Engineer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management System (DSMS) mission at Fort Belvoir, VA. The role involves analyzing and evaluating existing hardware/software technology systems, monitoring enterprise infrastructure, diagnosing and resolving issues, overseeing disaster recovery plans, and implementing security hardening activities. The position requires advanced experience in administering Windows servers in virtualized environments and a comprehensive knowledge of networking technologies.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with DISA STIGs and their relation to Windows, Linux, and VMWare Operating Systems security.
  • Intermediate experience with PowerShell scripting and deployment.
  • Prior experience building, deploying, and administrating Windows Server 2016-2022.
  • Experience with providing Active Directory Domain Services and Public Key Infrastructure services.
  • Ability to install, configure, and upgrade hosted applications Operating System services.
  • Experience working with Trellix Security Suite.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 8+ years of experience.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, or SSCP).
  • Minimum of a DoD Final Secret security clearance at start.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate existing hardware/software technology systems and design technological improvements.
  • Monitor and verify the availability, validity, and reliability of the enterprise infrastructure and services.
  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure hardware, software, network, domain, and client service issues.
  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, operations, and procedures.
  • Develop, test, implement, and execute upgrade strategies for Windows based operating system software, databases, and services.
  • Plan and implement security hardening activities in accordance with requirements.
  • Research, plan, propose, and brief Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) on enterprise infrastructure hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Provide technical guidance on emerging IT industry developments and technology capabilities.
  • Routinely review and manage mitigation efforts for Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) reports of vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain, implement, and report Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) on security posture concerns.
  • Author applicable Documented Risk Acceptance (DRA) documentation.
  • Advise Cybersecurity Team on all technical matters pertaining to enterprise infrastructure and services.
  • Audit, remediate, and report Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliancy status.
  • Create engineering documentation, diagrams, and configuration artifacts for the enterprise infrastructure.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure Enterprise services meet and support IT business requirements.
  • Track, plan, and implement lifecycle management for enterprise hardware and software.
  • Manage, track, document, and communicate assigned project status.
  • Lead team projects and liaise with all aspects of the program.
  • Demonstrate skillful time management and organizational skills.
