About The Position

The Enterprise Risk Management Financial Risk team is seeking Summer Interns to assist with various projects across multiple areas within the bank. Interns will gain exposure to a wide range of activities, including modeling, analytics, credit risk management, and market risk oversight, while supporting the team's daily operations and reporting functions.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, or engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, SQL, or Power BI.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to ask questions.

• Experience with risk management processes and methodologies.
• Familiarity with financial modeling and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Support the CMAO team in providing modeling and analytics solutions to assess counterparty credit risk and market risk.
• Assist in credit VaR model development and testing for the State Street Global Markets Security Finance portfolio.
• Participate in model and algorithm design, development, and implementation using advanced numerical and computational techniques.
• Develop methodologies, algorithms, and diagnostic tools for testing model stability and performance.
• Assist in running credit risk models/methodologies used in critical risk management processes such as CECL/BASEL/Quarterly Stress Testing.
• Perform model output analysis and conduct sensitivity analysis to evaluate the impact on credit risk metrics.
• Support the GTRM Team with reporting and general BAU functions related to interest rate risk exposures.
• Analyze material factors affecting interest rate risk and support key IRR framework enhancement projects.
• Provide risk oversight for global FX trading business and develop framework for FX risk guidelines.
