About the position

The Enterprise Risk Management Program Manager at Stripe is responsible for evolving and managing the company's ERM program and framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and promoting a culture of risk awareness. This role involves overseeing risk management processes, developing policies, and collaborating with various teams to enhance risk assessment methodologies and reporting. The position plays a critical role in identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and monitoring material risks across Stripe's global operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the maturation and adoption of the ERM program across the organization, ensuring alignment on vision and executing on a multi-year roadmap.
  • Manage ERM processes and develop enterprise-wide policies, integrating risk management principles throughout the organization.
  • Prepare management and board committee reporting.
  • Lead and enhance the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program, collaborating with first and second lines of defense to conduct dynamic risk assessments.
  • Manage the risk acceptance process, ensuring thorough evaluation and documentation of acceptances and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the development and deployment of a risk appetite framework, collaborating with stakeholders to determine risk appetite tolerances.
  • Sustain and embed issues management and incident management, driving consistency and quality across the enterprise.
  • Coordinate program integration with assurance and monitoring, audit, and 1LoD risk management functions.
  • Promote a positive risk-aware culture through training and communication.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to evolve the risk management framework.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in compliance, enterprise risk management, business process analysis, strategy and operations, consulting, and/or program management.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and control library management.
  • Familiarity with risks faced by global fintechs with a range of payments and consumer products.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to distill complex risk problems into clear conclusions.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with strong cross-functional project management skills.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, including navigating difficult situations and influencing stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong executive management and board-level reporting skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 3 years of experience in the FinTech or financial services industry.
  • Experience working with GRC solutions.
