Nexteer Information Technology is seeking an Electronic Data Interface (EDI) expert to be a member of our extended Global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Team. This role will be involved in many aspects of Nexteer’s business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EDI and strong troubleshooting skills. In this role the candidate will act as the principal liaison between business users, third party vendors, customers and suppliers, and the Global ERP Team. The candidate will work directly with users to analyze business requirements and onboard new trading partners. Tasks will include developing processes, maintaining documentation, testing, problem solving and maintaining EDI applications. A technical background, knowledge of the QAD ERP system and the automotive industry are preferred.

  • Lead Nexteer’s EDI activities
  • Act as the EDI primary point of contact for the US / Mexico
  • Collaborate with other business and EDI experts
  • Manage EDI issues, tickets and communications
  • Work closely with the Nexteer business, EDI Value Added Network (VAN) provider(s) and QAD support team to resolve EDI errors based on criticality
  • Manage all customer and supplier EDI on-boarding, including but not limited to gathering/organizing requirements, organizing documentation, communication set ups/changes, mapping, and testing
  • Define, document and train users on processes and application tools
  • Urgent situations will require off-hours support
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in the field of computer science, engineering, business administration or related discipline
  • Experience with Microsoft Cloud products, including, Office 365 and MS Teams
  • Solid understanding of EDI functionality: mapping, translation and transmission of data is a plus; EDI experience preferred
  • ERP experience preferred, QAD experience ideal
  • Functional understanding of automotive scheduling, invoicing and shipping
  • Experienced with formal software development methodologies: analyzing problems, identifying and writing requirement specifications, identifying test cases, participating in testing, etc.
  • Understanding application installations, website access and different file transfer protocols
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a geographically dispersed team
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adjust to changing priorities
  • Good written and oral English communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail is required
  • ERP experience preferred, QAD experience ideal
  • Functional understanding of automotive scheduling, invoicing and shipping
