Our Impact: The Enterprise Business Risk & Control Office is a new team at Freddie Mac responsible for facilitating efficient, effective, and consistent management of non-financial risks across Freddie Mac’s first line divisions. We are building a highly motivated team that enjoys driving change and identifying improvement opportunities and solutions. The Centralized Testing group within this team is accountable for executing operational control and compliance testing for all businesses and functions across the firm. Note: this role will be largely focused on Capital Markets and Finance activities at Freddie Mac. Your Impact: In this role, you will be an integral part of forming and optimizing centralized operational control and compliance testing for the firm. You will be expected to:

Requirements

  • 15+ years of related professional experience with 8+ years people management
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
  • Extensive experience in control testing, audit or assurance functions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and promote a culture that emphasizes resiliency, adaptability, and efficiency
  • Strong planning and execution skills and ability to influence others
  • Highly effective communication and conflict management skills
  • Ability to facilitate innovative thinking to solve problems and make decisions
  • Broad knowledge of the firm and its key functions, including understanding of capital markets, stress testing and capital planning

Responsibilities

  • Implement the enterprise self‑testing strategy and operating model, supporting clear standards for quality, consistency, accountability, and risk coverage across all testing activities.
  • Review and challenge testing approaches, conclusions, and themes as the reviewer, confirming rigor, consistency, and efficiency in testing.
  • Support and mentor the team to provide guidance and leading practices on control testing.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with business leaders, Enterprise Risk, and Internal Audit, facilitating issue vetting, resolving conflicts, and clearly communicating risk implications and testing outcomes for capital markets, stress testing, and capital planning.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent, setting expectations for performance, professional growth, and accountability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $194,000 - $290,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
