About The Position

Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Enterprise Java Developer / Architect candidate for a Remote position on one of our prime Federal projects in Arlington, VA. Federal agency requires US Citizenship. Candidate should have previous experience working in one of the following sectors, federal and large commercial, financial, insurance and banking with a strong emphasis on user experience, usability, client interaction, customer satisfaction, and a clear understanding of new and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, or similar.
  • 10+ years in Java application development, with solutions architect experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, and application dependencies.
  • Experience migrating enterprise applications into Azure.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Microsoft TFS.
  • Strong experience with ADF/JSF/JavaScript, JavaBeans/EJB, Ant or Maven, and Git source control.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure Cloud and Cloud.Gov environment.
  • Experience working with Oracle Databases and WebLogic Application Servers.
  • Experience working directly with technical and business teams.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, IT governance and operations.
  • Agile Development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, upgrade, test, implement, and document software components of client applications.
  • Work independently and/or within teams throughout all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Communicate with end users, business analysts, and systems analysts to determine features, requirements and solution design.
  • Develop enhancements to a suite of applications using leading software principles.
  • Document technical specifications and designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues as needed.
  • Adhere to established design, coding, naming and standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and apply corrections as required.
  • Adhere to change control processes.
  • Write/revise documentation including operations and user guidelines.
  • Define and document requirements and develop supportable application solutions to automate business processes.
  • Lead development efforts consisting of multiple developers or multi-thread development projects.
