About The Position

The Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Credit Union’s enterprise-wide infrastructure, including enterprise-wide Applications, servers, storage, cloud platforms (such as Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services) networks, and work in collaboration with Cyber Security Operations Engineer. This role ensures that all infrastructure components are robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals. Under limited supervision, the engineer assists in planning, coordinating, and monitoring the availability, performance, and support got infrastructure resources across all Credit Union locations. The position evaluates infrastructure requirements, develops solutions, and ensures seamless integration of hardware, software, and cloud services as a team member on projects providing support on technical requirements and implementation specific to Enterprise Infrastructure and Application Support. The engineer also prepares and maintains operating procedures and documentation and provides advanced technical support to staff and IT administrators. This is a key member of the Technology team and requires fully onsite work at VCCU’s OceanView Headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Comparable technical experience will be accepted in lieu of formal education/degree.
  • 4+ years of directly related experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering, including servers, storage, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), and networks.
  • Proficiency in implementing and maintaining security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, etc.).
  • Continuing education is required to maintain current knowledge of technological advances (seminars, conferences, certifications, technical articles, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Networking Engineer Associate, or similar certification strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise infrastructure systems, including virtualization, cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), and network management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and strategies to staff, top management, business stakeholders, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all levels of management, providing updates during the development and implementation of new infrastructure technologies and processes.
  • Vendor and Technology Evaluation: Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate and select technology vendors, platforms, and tools that align with infrastructure and business needs.
  • Manage assigned infrastructure and Enterprise Application projects and provide technical support to VCCU staff.
  • Provide first- or second-line support on all infrastructure systems, including after-hours support for critical systems. Includes Microsoft Services Technology Stack such as Entra, PurView, Defender, Exchange, Share Point, etc. Solution tools such as Auvik, Sophos, Manage Engine, Proof Point, Datto RMM
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems, including servers, storage, cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), networks, and software solutions.
  • Administer infrastructure security functions, including user privileges, monitoring, and adherence to VCCU security policies and industry-standard security frameworks (such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) in collaboration with Cyber Security Operations Engineer.
  • Collect, analyze, and monitor infrastructure data for resource utilization and performance.
  • Assist in preparing long-range infrastructure projects/plans with priority recommendations and project scheduling.
  • Prepare and update procedural documentation and manage system configurations.
  • Analyze and resolve infrastructure, system, and network problems reported by users.
  • Schedule and perform system updates, equipment maintenance, upgrades, and hardware repairs.
  • Secondary support for Help Desk technicians for escalates support issues.
  • Must maintain the Credit Union’s policies regarding Service Standards while proactively developing additional service standards and solutions that will further enhance the Information Technology Department’s Staff Service.
