About The Position

As the Enterprise Architect for Information Security, you will work with business and technical teams to build strategies and guardrails which shape COUNTRY Financial's security posture. Your partnership and influence will guide our teams toward a resilient, secure-by-design ecosystem which enables the organization to scale, adapt and quickly deliver solutions. In this role, you will define blueprints for a Zero-Trust access model, Cloud-Native security controls, secure use of AI and complex regulatory requirements to be used in a modern development environment. You will influence senior IT and business leadership and drive adoption of secure design patterns across our Architecture Community of Practice by balancing robust security with delivery velocity.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in IT and Cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a dedicated Enterprise or Lead Architecture role.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale digital transformations or security modernization initiatives in a highly regulated environment (Insurance or Finance preferred).
  • Demonstrated success establishing and evangelizing Reference Architectures and patterns for cloud-native applications, data protection, and identity management.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience designing for compliance with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GLBA, NAIC, and awareness of evolving Data Privacy laws (CCPA/GDPR).
  • Security Frameworks: Deep proficiency in NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, and Zero Trust Maturity Models.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud: Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure security, container security, cloud posture management, and secure access services.
  • Identity & Data: Expertise in modern IAM (OIDC, SAML, Passwordless) and Data Security (DLP, Encryption at rest/transit/use).
  • Working knowledge of TOGAF or SABSA (Security Architecture Framework).
  • Experience in Agile/SAFe environments, ensuring architecture keeps pace with frequent delivery cycles.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and govern architectural views and blueprints depicting the Business and IT landscape in its current, transitional, and future state.
  • Recommend long-term direction on strategic advancements within the technical portfolio.
  • Define and maintain standards for artifacts containing architectural content within the operating model.
  • Build a Community of Practice for solutions architecture while leveraging architectural tools, processes, and practices.
  • Offer insight, guidance, and direction on the usage of emerging trends and technical capabilities.
