About The Position

We do Consulting Differently BRG seeks a full-time Enterprise Data Engineering Manager. This role will be charged with managing BRG’s data platforms and integrations across all BRG Enterprise systems, with a particular focus on our ERP and downstream proprietary platforms. This role will interface daily with staff from our Data and Business Solutions team, as well as other SME’s and stakeholders from BRG’s corporate departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • 7+ years relevant business experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial or technical problems to non-financial or non-technical audiences.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL
  • Strong experience with complex SQL stored procedures and queries.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Stack (.NET, Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server).
  • Strong experience creating and maintaining complex ETL /ETL procedures for high volumes of data.
  • Strong experience with REST API’s, OAuth flow, and other API Connectivity.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with PowerBI or SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • Experience with data visualization technologies (such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Qlik).
  • Experience with Integration as a Service platforms (such as Azure Data Factory, Dell Boomi, FiveTran).
  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
  • Experience with customer support.
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Data Engineering team and external vendors to support BRG’s enterprise data platforms.
  • Manage, maintain, and improve our nightly ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes from BRG’s ERP (Workday) to downstream proprietary systems (running on SQL Server and Snowflake).
  • Work with corporate departments to understand their data footprint and data needs.
  • Creation and maintenance of data integrations (data flows, API calls, synchronization, ETL/ELT, custom scripts, alerts, etc).
  • Design, implementation and monitoring of disaster recovery and business continuity procedures related to data systems.
  • Lead efforts to adopt PowerBI.
  • Creation of datasets, analysis services models, and reports as needed; assist others with the creation of automated reporting packages.
  • Creation of procedures for data warehousing.
  • Participation in development of overall data architecture and strategy.
  • Maintain documentation of data structures, dictionaries, data models, maps, and other artifacts.
  • Project management and planning: coordinating system changes and efforts with business team members, IT staff and vendors.
  • IT change management.
  • Budget and financial analysis of the cost of data platforms and cost saving measures.
  • Tier III support.
