Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Degree in Journalism, Communication, Public Relations or Marketing or related degree/equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 7 or more years of communications, PR, journalism or marketing experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading crisis communications and issues management efforts.
  • High degree of personal initiative, seasoned judgment, outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow the firm's impact, make effective decisions and deliver the right outcomes.
  • Experience translating stakeholder needs into communication strategies and experiences.
  • Ability to make highly complex issues easily understood to key stakeholders including internal audiences, clients, prospective clients and the media.
  • Demonstrated success navigating complex, dynamic environments with changing priorities and deadlines, ability to work in a team-based or matrix environment.
  • Effective at building strong relationships to influence and gain consensus at all levels, including senior level executives.
  • Deep understanding of emerging communications technology and social media platforms, as well as an understanding of the local and national media landscape.
  • Deep understanding of what constitutes news and knowledge of how the media works.

  • Experience in financial services and other highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Leads omnichannel communication strategies for large, complex strategic efforts and brand initiatives.
  • Partners with firm leaders and matrixed teams to develop and execute strategic messaging, creative communication strategies, campaign concepts, tactical ideation, content execution, client materials and other deliverables that bring our differentiated brand to life.
  • Integrates and executes strategic messaging and/or verbal direction of content and campaigns, in collaboration with other creative and strategic partners; ensures approved strategy and creative direction remains intact throughout project's lifecycle.
  • Effective at building strong relationships and making highly complex issues easily understood to influence and gain consensus with peers and leaders, other internal audiences, client and prospective clients.
  • Experience translating stakeholder needs into communication strategies and experiences.
  • Experience in developing content strategy for different media and determining channel activation strategy.
  • Demonstrated success navigating complex, dynamic environments with changing priorities and deadlines and the ability to work in a team-based or matrix environment.
  • Able to deliver and apply feedback to ensure message, creative strategy and brand voice alignment.
